Dumped WW and tried the Dukan diet - this has been ongoing since September 2010 and I have lost around 28lbs so far. It's not easy - sepecially at my age but it is coming off slowly and I do feel better. The diet is fairly restricted and I am taking a vitamin supplement so I don't miss out.
Otherwise I'm having plenty of fresh meat - well steak and kidneys and liver and turkey and chicken, not so much of my fave lamb or pork as they are quite fatty meats. Vegetables every other day but no fruit at all which I do miss and hardly any carbs, I also think its fair to say that I am afraid of bananas now lol
I can have 2tbs of oat bran each day to help with fibre loss...
all in all a perfect diet for me - no calories or points to count or remember.
I have dropped at least 4 dress sizes going from a 20-22 down to a size 16. I have lost 2 inches from my bust - 5 inches from my tummy and 3 inches from my hips, maybe more. What I do know is that my clothes that were straining all fit me well now - I was wearing things that were far too tight.
Looking good! :)

Half a pound off!
Thaats about 2 oranges! Hardly worth having but that said its better than putting it on, which I have been consistenly doing since December, my leader keeps saying
'lets have a fresh start shall we?' I have had more fresh starts on my card than anyone I think! Bless her she really tries to be uplifting and supportive.
I will one day look like her except for the purple hair as purple does not suit me in spite of it being my fave colour!
I have tried the forums on the WW site but after the first few oohhs and aahhs it didn't really add anything to the experience! I was hoping to find a 'buddy' to help cheer me on - not that she/he would have had much cheering to do these past weeks lol more like petting and consoling over a glass of wine or a muffin!!
Anyway that is all behind me(!) now and I am filled with fresh hope and at only 1 point per hope I can consume as many hopes and wishes as I like.
Will be back next week for another thrilling insight into losing weight with WW.

Happy New Year 2010
Just dropped in to wish anyone and everyone a HNY - it was a crap year health wise last year so I'm hoping for better things this year - more time to scrap and make cards to help with my son's fundraising for the church. That would be nice - I hope I don't spend any time in hospital either this year - bored with all that!!

We went 'tyre kicking' yesterday - thats what we say when we are going to look at motorhomes! We don't really kick tyres - its what all men seem to want to do when they look at a new vehicle.........strange creatures! Anyway, we have found the layout type that works for us but its 2 years too soon! it will wait I'm sure and by then features will have been added and improved so its no big deal and I certainly don't want to wish those 2 years away!
We had our 'van weighed yesterday and she really needs to go to weight watchers! we have hardly any payload left when the fuel tank is full so Ant's project is to see how much weight he can jettison without compromising the camping experience - I don't think it will be that much but its giving him something to think about! I have personally managed to lose 2lbs this week so that a bottle of wine that can be added to the cupboard instead!!
Wish I was somewhere warm...............

catch up time!
long overdue, too much really to catch up with so in short, family fine, friends all good! Finding it a bit lonely at home, its hard when you don't like housework and people tend to frown if one crafts all day! Not Ant though - he is happy as long as I'm happy! Bless him!
Wish the weather would cheer up a bit, its quite dark and its only 2.40pm, I don't mind the winter season, its just the dark dreary afternoons that drain me.
Holidays last year were great - Oz was amazing and VA was great as usual, seeing Andrea and Al and the kids always cheers me up, I find that I quite settle and almost don't want to leave them at the end of my time there but there is a very strong pull on this side of the pond!!!
We have invested in a campervan and she is the love of Ant's life! I am quite fond of her too which helps!! a lot!! we have had some great hols with her already and have begun to make plans for this spring/summer including Scotland with Andrew and Robyn so that they can go climbing - they are kidnapping David - thats ok we know where they are going and the ransom is bound to be cheap!
They went up Mount Snowdon last year and want to go higher this time - good luck to them - we shall be keeping our feet firmly on the straight and level ground, no more climbing for me!
Kirsty and Liz really enjoyed our trip to Skeggy in September - the weather was awesome for the time of year and it was definitely warm enough to go in the sea- shame we had not taken our bathing gear...... all in all a good year, the sad things wea re still working through and that is what life throws at you every so often.

50th party
I know this might sound tame but I have just been to an awesome 50th birthday party, the reason its awesome is that I met people that I have not seen in over 16 years but who were great friends of mine. When a couple split up friends are split up too so the people that 'stayed' with my ex dropped out of my life and I out of respect for their friendship with my ex dropped out of theirs too. Well, tonight we all met up again and it was scary at times how much we had changed but also how much we remebered from the times we all spent together when we were younger. People cannot understand how I could go to this party but my ex and our partners have grown up and we are all adult enough to know that life is too f******* short to waste precious time holding grudges! We are fine with each other so everyone else will just have to get over it! I felt so happy to meet up with old friends that I quite forgot that we had not spoken for years and so did they! On the whole it was an excellent party, apart from the fact that one of the people giving the party - they are twins- is seriously ill and that makes it all the more poignant.......... Thank God for broadminded people, people who are ready to live and let live! I know that we have all worked hard at getting along for other people's sakes but in the end we are all friends and that is what really matters. I am sitting here tearing up and hoping that we can all meet again and enjoy each others company.
