Not much cake to write about in August apart from my granddaughter's rainbow Hello Kitty birthday cake which my lovely daughter made. It was totally delicious and moist although several people have said that they hate the word moist used to describe cake! What other word could be used to replace moist? Spongey? which I think sounds like something you use in a bath, good crumb? I don't want a sponge cake to be crumby! Damp? humid? soggy? wet? clammy? not dry? drippy??? what its wrong with the word moist for goodness sake? So that is the word I will use for the cake - it was beautifully moist! :-)

Well we are off in the motor home again tomorrow and I am hoping for a slice of cake whilst we are away. I hope I can find something moist and rich as the last piece I had tasted stale quite frankly and distinctly dry. Won't be eating cake there again. I am lucky these days to be able to share my love of cake with other like minded folk on a craft forum I have joined, they appreciate me for who I am, a crafter that loves cake! I don't make cakes or anything else really as it is my OH who loved to cook in our house and he is very good so why would I want to stop him! hehe. He best ever cake is a banana loaf - it is truly divine. Moist and melts in the mouth, enough now.Although my neighbour made a wicked cake at the weekend and that was the last piece of cake that I had, victoria sponge top and bottom and chocolate brownies through the middle with loads of frosting sandwiching the layers together, it was in the form of a giant burger in a bun!must have been about 6 inches tall - very nice!

New Year - less me!

Dumped WW and tried the Dukan diet - this has been ongoing since September 2010 and I have lost around 28lbs so far. It's not easy - sepecially at my age but it is coming off slowly and I do feel better. The diet is fairly restricted and I am taking a vitamin supplement so I don't miss out.
Otherwise I'm having plenty of fresh meat - well steak and kidneys and liver and turkey and chicken, not so much of my fave lamb or pork as they are quite fatty meats. Vegetables every other day but no fruit at all which I do miss and hardly any carbs, I also think its fair to say that I am afraid of bananas now lol
I can have 2tbs of oat bran each day to help with fibre loss...
all in all a perfect diet for me - no calories or points to count or remember.
I have dropped at least 4 dress sizes going from a 20-22 down to a size 16. I have lost 2 inches from my bust - 5 inches from my tummy and 3 inches from my hips, maybe more. What I do know is that my clothes that were straining all fit me well now - I was wearing things that were far too tight.
Looking good! :)

I am starting to become addicted to these papers and can't wait to get my hands on some! I have them digitally from the store but its not like I get to stroke them! Small post! Everything good.

Half a pound off!

Thaats about 2 oranges! Hardly worth having but that said its better than putting it on, which I have been consistenly doing since December, my leader keeps saying
'lets have a fresh start shall we?' I have had more fresh starts on my card than anyone I think! Bless her she really tries to be uplifting and supportive.
I will one day look like her except for the purple hair as purple does not suit me in spite of it being my fave colour!
I have tried the forums on the WW site but after the first few oohhs and aahhs it didn't really add anything to the experience! I was hoping to find a 'buddy' to help cheer me on - not that she/he would have had much cheering to do these past weeks lol more like petting and consoling over a glass of wine or a muffin!!
Anyway that is all behind me(!) now and I am filled with fresh hope and at only 1 point per hope I can consume as many hopes and wishes as I like.
Will be back next week for another thrilling insight into losing weight with WW.

Happy New Year 2010

Just dropped in to wish anyone and everyone a HNY - it was a crap year health wise last year so I'm hoping for better things this year - more time to scrap and make cards to help with my son's fundraising for the church. That would be nice - I hope I don't spend any time in hospital either this year - bored with all that!!

Me at Bondi Beach August 2008

We went 'tyre kicking' yesterday - thats what we say when we are going to look at motorhomes! We don't really kick tyres - its what all men seem to want to do when they look at a new vehicle.........strange creatures! Anyway, we have found the layout type that works for us but its 2 years too soon! it will wait I'm sure and by then features will have been added and improved so its no big deal and I certainly don't want to wish those 2 years away!

We had our 'van weighed yesterday and she really needs to go to weight watchers! we have hardly any payload left when the fuel tank is full so Ant's project is to see how much weight he can jettison without compromising the camping experience - I don't think it will be that much but its giving him something to think about! I have personally managed to lose 2lbs this week so that a bottle of wine that can be added to the cupboard instead!!

Wish I was somewhere warm...............
