cleaning day! AAAAARRGGHHH

Today has been cleaning day - I know it needed doing but I didn't enjoy it one little bit. I know there are some people out there who like housework but I am not one of them.
One day closer to seeing my best mate A - cannot wait!Lots to do before I go - but as long as its all done by next week it will be fine.
DH and DS are already making plans for while I am away - lots of boy stuff - pizza and burping party is one of them...strange things men!
My parents in law are here for a few days - its lovely to see them - I have not seen them for a year, so its really nice to catch up.

granddaughter rules OK!!

Had my darling GD for the day today - we played and played and played!! she would still be playing now if she had not gone home. I really loved having her and getting down on the floor building towers for her to knock over, being a Mamma is the best!! She let me share her chocolate buttons too - what a star!

Went to a garden party on Sunday - 1.30 till 11.00 - wonderful afternoon, the food was delicious, the wine was flowing and the company of our friends made it the perfect way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon/evening...
Thanks to everyone who had a hand in it...

Starting to think about what to take to the States - 2 suitcases I think!! that's a good start, its going to be a little colder than last year so I want to have plenty of sweaters! I hate being cold and cannot rely on my hot flashes to get me through...

Saturday night - oops I mean Sunday morning!

Made some more cards today - tried to show them to DH, DS and visiting DS but they are not interested at all!
Also been playing whre's the chocolate spread again! I have not found it today - the hiding places are getting better - I wish he would hide it somewhere easier! Everyone knows where it is except me!

Time for bed

Another day gone by in sleepyland! Been making Christmas cards again today - almost finished this bunch!Really enjoyed it - I have loads of stuff left from the kit - I didn't like using some of it _ I just want to keep it!
Played hunt the chocolate spread again with DS - I cannot find it this time- when he has gone to bed I will take a chair into the kitchen and check the top of the cabinets!! I found it the last 2 times easily and wrote a message on the lid in permanent marker - he likes it when I do that. I Hope I find it tonight - I don't want to go out in the 3rd round!!
Been to the awards night at Boys Brigade - DS did really well again - he told us not to bother going as he wouldn't be getting any awards - little fibber - he got loads!!!Several of the other boys told their parents that too - what is it with teenage boys not wanting their parents around? cannot understand it myself ha ha ha

Early to bed tonight...

So tired - burning the candle at both ends is not suiting me! I need more zzzzzz..
been digi scrapping - so relaxing and no mess to clear up!

Evidence of a misspent middle age!

I ache all over! Too much time spent playing on the wii!!!!! However, it is paying off and my scores are improving!!! Have spent all day today catching up with the ironing and the hoovering, kept looking at the wii but managed not to pick it up till DS came home from school and then we bowled until I got fed up with losing!!

I have decided to sort out my scrap room so this could be the last post for a while unless I tie a piece of string to the door handle on the landing so that I can find my way out! I am sure that if I tidy the room up a bit I will be able to fit more stash into it!! ha ha ha DH thinks I am finally getting organised - FOOL!!! ha ha ha

Scrapping day!!

Been to the Scrapaholics club meeting at Edwinstowe and spent a few hours with like minded people who were kind enough to say that they liked the LOs I had done! Did a LO called All about you - and did it about my DH - he is a very interesting person and my hero!
Been playing on the wii again - I am determined not to be beaten at everything by everyone! It could take some time but I will win one day!!

Saturday - again!

Well DS has gone off to do his bronze level of the Duke of Edinburgh and that's left me and DH alone for the weekend... unbridled passion I hear you say - not really! we had a steak and then watched Bridget Jones Edge of Reason!! I love that film and DH was willing to sit through it again - I think he may have missed a little of it but he swears that the noise I heard was the buzzing in my ears again and not him snoring!! I am prepared to let it go due to the fact there is only the 2 of us here and it would be a shame to spoil the w/e..
It's been a few days since i posted anything- a very dear friend (A) came over to see us on Tuesday night, he is in the UK on business and so we treated ourselves to a curry and beer night, totally enjoyed ourselves!!
We (DH & I)went to see the Simpsons Movie yesterday- loved it, but not as much as the man who sat in front of us, he was rolling around splitting his sides laughing, which made us laugh even harder!
Some good friends came over on Thursday and we had a nice chat, also had my GD for a while, she is officially a toddler, did I mention that? anyway she is wearing us old folk out, but we are loving every minute of it!!

I am remembering to take my memory pills so they must be working! Although if they are put back in the cupboard I do forget to take them, heck I even forget that I am taking them!

The travel agent has got back to us re 2008 celebrations for my 50th birthday- we have booked to go to Australia!!!!!Cannot quite believe it!!!!! Been and bought the travel guides and am starting to get excited, I know I shouldn't as it is such a long way off but I can't help it!! One of the hotels looks like it might be in an interesting part of Bangkok...... but we are only there 2 nights and travel is supposed to broaden the mind isn't it??

Spent the day visiting...

Been to see my friend H and her little lad, lovely boy, let me play with his toys!Its the furthest I have driven in a lonnngggggg time! It's not that far but I am a scaredy cat at the moment, it did me good and I plan to do more driving to get me back into the swing of things...
This afternoon I went to visit someone who asked me to make a card for her, I really enjoyed the visit- we have known each other for years but never really sat down and had a good talk.
So a good day all in all and one which I shall look back on fondly for as long as my memory lets me!! that'll be around tomorrow lunchtime then!!
Remembered to take the memory pill again this morning so things are looking up!
Booked my flight to the USA to see A- can't wait!!

raining again...

started making my Christmas cards in August and made some more today, I am using an Anna Griffin kit and its ab fab! so much choice and great quality. Its raining and making cards seems like the perfect thing to do.
Family BBQ this w/e and all the kids were here, really nice. I have begun to treasure these events, life can take unexpected turns sometimes and so I am trying to make the most of things. On that subject we have made our minds up to go to OZ next year as its my 50th and we wanted to do something mega! We have put it off a few times due to DH's illness etc but now is the time to take the plunge. The itinerary suits us fine - its not the most adventurous but its ok by us!
It will be finalised by next week and we are really looking forward to it.
